I was an upholsterer for over 40 years. I always thought I would like to quilt, but didn't want to sew for fun when I sewed for a living. After I retired from upholstering, I started quilting and I love it. I have always crocheted. Now I do it while I am watching TV because I can't quilt and watch. I can sew anything, so I guess sewing is one of my hobbies also.
