Sending Christmas cards is a rooted habit. Today, the market offers a wide range of Christmas cards to choose from: from the funniest ones to the most elegant, chic and at the same time most expensive ones. Why not cutting off the costs of sending Christmas wishes through Christmas card crafts? Making cards is a handcraft that people of all ages enjoy because it leaves room for imagination. Besides this, in order to end up with a beautiful card, you do not even need to make big investments in tools and materials. With some wastes of fabrics you have in house, some drawing tools and natural elements you can create wonderful cards to send to your friends. And they will be much more appreciated, as you have spent time to create them from 0, which tells a lot more than a bought card about your feelings and thoughts.
For those of you who are thinking seriously about Christmas card crafts this year, here are some sources of inspiration:
Look for some scraps of fabric you have left from the clothes you have tailored. To make a Santa Claus face for your card you will need for sure some red fabric that you will cut into a triangle shape to represent the Santa's hat. Garnish the hat with some white cotton, and then draw the Santa's cheerful face. Add some red in his cheeks, to make a Merry Christmas and a merry Santa for the card's receiver.
Tree sprigs are elements which, displayed on a piece of cardboard, will charm any receiver. They smell like Christmas and although in a few days they will fade, the impact of receiving such a card is tremendous.
Snowflakes are important elements of Christmas card crafts and there are many ways of creating them. One of the easiest ways to have a beautiful Christmas card with a snowflakes pattern is to outline them out of glittering silver powder. Put on a blue piece of cardboard folded in two, they will make a very elegant Christmas card.
If you want to send a very special card this Christmas, cut it into a Christmas item shape. It could be a Christmas tree, Santa Claus or star shaped card. Write your warmest thoughts inside and send it to the ones you love. They will certainly appreciate the effort and keep it to remind them of you.
If you want to involve kids in the Christmas card crafts, here is a great idea you can use to make this experience funnier for them: a handprint Santa Claus card. Ask them to put white water-color on their hand and to stamp the piece of cardboard, which by the way should be of dark color, in order for the pattern to be visible. Then, turn the cardboard upside down and add eyes, nose and mouth above the handprint. On the top of all, draw a Santa hat and next to the Santa's face write down your message.
These are just a few ideas of Christmas card crafts you can go for to start spreading the joy around. But the number of patterns you can create for the Christmas cards is endless, depending on your creativity and ability to mix colors, elements and materials you have at hand.
