Paper is probably one of the best inventions ever. It gives us a support to write on and also a support to express our creativeness and skillfulness in crafting. Crafts based on paper are very delicate, requiring attention for details and patience to work, but the results are as delicate as the craft itself. You can use paper for crafting on any occasion and Christmas paper crafts are even more interesting as they are a way of creating those White Christmases that we hold an image of from tales and movies.
For people who endear working with paper, we have come up with some ideas on how they can use this material to create Christmas items.
One of the most famous crafts in the world based on paper is origami, originating from the Asian culture. It requires a lot of patience to learn how to fold paper in a variety of shapes. Origami can also be one of the Christmas paper crafts to perform this year for creating stars, snowflakes, bells or any other decorations for your tree.
Quilling is also a form of craft and even art using paper. It is less known than origami, although its history traces back to the Ancient times and does not relate to the Asian culture, but rather to the European one. Paper quilling is even more scrupulous than origami because it consists in creating some simple shapes from thin strips of paper rolled on a stick and then mixing these shapes in more complicated designs. Christmas designs can be easily obtained with a drop of imagination and this way quilling can become one of the Christmas paper crafts on your list. For example, to create a quilled tree, you need several strips of paper that you will have to roll at one side, leaving the other side as it is. Then, display this rolls in pairs of V, one above the other, and this way you will outline a Christmas tree that you can glue on a card or put into a frame.
Card making is one of the most popular Christmas paper crafts. It is equally enjoyed by kids and adults and all it requires is cardboard, scissors, drawing tools and glue, plus other accessories depending on the pattern you are creating. You can make Christmas cards based only on paper or you can combine cardboard and paper with fabrics, natural elements, beads and any other accessories that will make your card look great.
Christmas paper crafts can be pursued not only for creating tree decorations or cards, but also decoration items for your home. Hanging doors or walls items and banners are easy to create through paper cutting up. Outline the item on the cardboard, cut it out and then use your creativity to embellish it. Through this method you can populate your house with Santa Clauses, reindeers, angels and snowmen, plus many other decorating elements specific to this Holiday like bells, stars or snowflakes.
Arm yourself with plenty of paper and start Christmas paper crafts in order to get your house all dressed up for the Winter Holidays Season. Paper is a classic material and the items you will create will never go out of fashion.
